Project 4
This final project was difficult for me. I had a lot of trouble and in the end I decided to try and combine both the skribble library, sound library, scenemanager with bitmap images to create my interface. Since I had to use a new library, I had to also come up with a new idea. I based it off my original plan of creating Twitter but made in the early days of the internet. This new plan was to turn Twitter in a way that looks like it was drawn in a physical notepad and is inspired by Nintendo’s Pictochat. I also wanted my project to have a sort of “childlike” approach to it, using poorly drawn things from Illustrator. This project would fall under Interface as Visual Language System and Mashups. This project would be familiar to those who have used Pictochat or have seen a child's notebook. For me I based it on the familiarity I had from an old notebook I used to pass around to talk in class without my teacher noticing. So I hand drew most of the interface to fit with the scribble lines and keep the idea of a notebook. The jokes are products of their time as well. I also included a simulation of the “You are an Idiot” virus from the 1990s to keep in touch with the original idea of being an old website. This is a reference to the early internet but it mostly represents the idea of getting a virus randomly.
